What's all this about then?

Duh. All the Caley Thistle crests and numerous mentions of Caley Thistle, Caledonian Stadium and various incumbents thereof should be a clue. This site is a tool for me to variously praise, condemn, comment on, criticise and satirise any Caley Thistle or football-related goings-on that deserve it. If you enjoy the result, then good.

Who are you and why are you such an opinionated *****?

I'm a 20-something Caley Thistle fan who lives "down South". I enjoy playing around with HTML, and this site gives me a chance to extend my skills while getting stuff off my chest. My name, and by extension the name of the site, was first coined by The Fly in 2002 when I was looking for a username for the message boards at Caleythistleonline. I can still sometimes be found on the boards there. I come across as an opinionated ***** because I feel very strongly about certain things and rather enjoy a touch of satire to lighten the mood. I'm really a very nice person. Honest.

How long has the site be running?

Since May 2003, when, with no web-building experience I set it up on free hosting at Tripod. Ugh! Eventually the relentless tide of pop-up ads annoying me and my visitors drove me to move the site to free hosting here at Bravenet. The website has been dormant since I moved away from Inverness, but at long last I've managed to get it running again. Hooray!

Is it worth 15 minutes of my time to read this site?

Well I certainly think so, but of course I would say that. If you enjoy informed opinion, balanced discussion and in-depth analysis... read the Financial Times. On the other hand, if you like an irreverent, satirical sideways glance at the crrraaazy world of football you might perhaps enjoy this site. If you like Caley Thistle wallpapers for your PC desktop you'll definitely like this site. You can download them, and all the other goodies I made here. (NOTE: the downloads page is still hosted on Tripod, make sure your pop-up blocker is working...)

Technical Details (for those who are curious)
This site was constructed with HTML 4. It uses CSS 2 and a little bit of JavaScript 1.5, although most of the Javascript bells and whistles have been removed in order to make the site leaner and faster. It is designed to be cross-browser compatible and works best with reasonably up-to-date versions of all the major browsers, although as I have no access to Windows Vista or the most up-to-date browsers I can't guarantee that it will look perfect on all browsers.
This site uses free hosting at Bravenet, which shows some adverts to visitors. The domain name was very kindly registered by Caley D.
These pages are designed to work across most platforms and operating systems. However, I have no idea what this site looks like when viewed with a Mac or a Windows Vista PC as I have no access to these machines to test the pages. If you use these systems and have any comments or suggestions, please drop me a line and let me know.
