Who is Martin Glancy?

This guy. >>
Martin Glancy, my cult hero, first signed on loan from Dumbarton in the middle of the 1998/99 season, when we were pushing for the Scottish second division title. He impressed with his energy and hardworking attitude, running non-stop for the whole time that he was on the park. After a wrangle with Dumbarton, who seemed to think they were better than us for some reason, Martin signed a permanent contract in early 1999.
What I loved about him was that he had such a great attitude. Despite being a small guy, he showed great tenacity in winning the ball and getting it back if he was dispossessed. He never gave up, despite not getting as much of a chance in the first team as he maybe should have had. When he was transfer-listed in September 2000, I was quietly gutted. The really sweet thing was that when I wrote him a letter to wish him well and express my regret he replied with a thank you card. This alone is enough to make him a legend in my estimation.
After leaving Caley Thistle, Martin had spells at Clydebank, Berwick, Airdrie, Stirling Albion, Queen of the South, Stranraer, Morton and Bathgate Thistle. He has now left professional football and currently runs Airportnetworking.com, a site that helps business people meet up with each other instead of wasting those long boring hours spent waiting in airports.

Although he didn't stay very long with us, Martin gathered a little fanclub of his own, and some of us still wonder what would have happened if he'd stayed longer and been given more of a chance to prove himself. Anyway, whatever he gets up to, good luck to him!
Feel free to get in touch if you want to join the fanclub, and even if you don't, take a minute to appreciate your own favourite player, whoever he may be.
