Barry Wilson to St Johnstone!!!

Barry Wilson

In a move that has provoked criticism and furious debate amongst Caley Thistle supporters, Barry Wilson, a senior player with one of the longest-standing connections to the club, has been allowed to join St Johnstone on a month-long emergency loan deal. While Barry is not as young as he used to be (hey, who is? You'd have to make time run backwards for that), he still has a great deal of quality and is one of the few players in the squad to have the ability to really change a game, plus a wealth of experience which one would have thought to be of great use, especially to the less experienced members of the squad. This, as well as the fact that this is his testimonial year, makes his lack of involvement in the first team this season more puzzling and/or galling, especially given some of the results we have had lately. Barry's desire to play first team football is natural, but what is worrying is the drain away from the club of quality players who have a touch of flair. What is also worrying is the seeming lack of concern for long-serving employees.

Personally, I am hoping that the "temporary" move to Perth does not become a permanent one. Otherwise, serious questions will have to be asked.

WriteOnCaley.com Relaunched

...Although if you didn't realise it by now you must be a little on the slow side.

After two long, dormant years WriteOnCaley.com is finally up and running again with new updates, hopefully some new photos courtesy of Caleyjags.com and definitely a new attitude. This site will soon be five years old, and as it will be old enough to start school, it has a more sceptical, grown-up voice. "Why?" I hear you ask. Partly because I'm more grown up myself, but mainly because I've seen and heard an awful lot of football-related nonsense over the last couple of years and have decided that enough is enough. I am gonna have my two cents' worth for a change.

This site isn't just about bitching and scepticism, though. It's about humour, having a laugh, recognising the good things and putting the fun back into following Caley Thistle. Even if you don't agree with all my opinions, I hope you will find something on here that you do like. Even if it's just the colour scheme.
